But I must tell you, Ben, I've been trying to get the right shot of this house for a long time and couldn't get it. You got it! I think this shot shows it most realistically, most truthfully. You're right, it's not the most beautiful architecture, but it does blend into the hillside in a somewhat unobtrusive way.

Thanks for the history lesson!ben widemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10010635436712076159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37900702.post-15516691704640811582008-05-07T12:22:00.000-07:002008-05-07T12:22:00.000-07:00That was the section of the freeway that fell in t...That was the section of the freeway that fell in the Sylmar earthquake in 1971. I remember passing under it on horseback when they were rebuilding it. About that house, I refer to it's style as Post Modern Nautical . I also consider that house a hideous eyesore and vote it the ugliest house in Pasadena. I'm pleased that Pasadena shows a strong desire to retain it's historical homes and buildings, but I have trouble with how thy allow the most ill conceived designs to be built in the most visibly prominent parts of our city.Pasadena Adjacenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09031325790590238246noreply@blogger.com
