I'm probably showing my age here, but that motel makes me think of the so-bad-it's-great late prog rock anthem "On the Loose" by, you guessed it, Saga. Youtube it if you haven't seen the video, it's great early MTV-era stuff.
Not sure what I like more about that video - the white jump suit the lead singer is wearing, the amazing cinematography, or the combo keyboard/guitar solo. Wow.
