I definitely approve. I drive past that crosswalk at least four times per week and it's brutal how many people don't stop for pedestrians. Almost as bad as the Union/Oakland crosswalk that got a light a couple months ago. (I think you know where I'm talking about...)
As a bike-riding resident of this block who often turns left onto Orange Grove on my bike, I wish they had put in a button to push on the right side of the road. I either have to run a red, or go the the crosswalk down the sidewalk. But I agree it makes things safer.
