biking after the station fire

a few weeks ago, taking a long ride on our bicycles was out of the question. the air was so thick with smoke and ash that it occasionally looked like it was snowing on me when i rode my bike to work. we are happy that the smoke is gone and the sky is clear, yet we are also sad that this fire took our forest with it. this la times article and accompanying video is worth a look.

more skywatch friday can be found right here.

The ride was probably better going to school compared to work.

The ride to school and work are almost identical since I work on campus.

Must have been a challenge for you with all those smoke. The news kept us glued on tv screen and made us busy reading the numerous Pasadena blogs for personal coverage.

I know, I know.

Unfortunately my birthday is also on Saturday, and I have different plans. They will involve beer, just not quite in the same way.

Thanks for the reminder.

Glad the air is better for your ride.
We are back to the dull gray/blue/brown of very late Summer over here in Corona too.
The forest will grow once more,we can only watch and nurture it now.
