deck the halls

the paseo colorado shopping complex is currently undergoing its seasonal changes - christmas decorations, and even a giant menorah (see it across the way?).

it was interesting to see the tree being decorated by a boom lift truck - is your tree big enough to need one of those?

I drove down Green Street last night, it's beautiful the way the trees are lit up on the west end, and nice to pass Paseo and see the decorations.

Dining theaters? Are there any? And don't they spell it theatres even in the US? (I've never noticed that sign before.)

No, cinemas in the USA seem to flip back and forth between spellings.

And I believe the sign is indicating that there are both dining places, and theater places in the Paseo complex. Although, at the new ArcLight Cinema, you can eat in their upscale cafe and certain movies do get catered I believe.

Ben, yes, my neighbor in Monrovia, well, former neighbor, who moved to a big house up on Gold Hill, uses a forklift to position her 30 feet tree in their house. Some people take their trees quite seriously.

now that is serious stuff!

This shot is screaming for a tilt-shift lens. It already looks like a miniature without the effect.

I wish I knew a bit more about how to tinker with stuff like that! Again, I'm just using a point and shoot camera - sadly no interchangeable lenses.
