beer and cheese (...at least a tiny bit)

as a part of l.a. beer week, i attended a beer and cheese tasting at whole foods last night. for $15 we had 5 generous beer samples paired with 5 different cheeses. we had a really enjoyable time.

not sure who randy is, but at whole foods he puts his name on certain beer in the display case. this image is just part of their massive shelf and features two breweries from southern california - the bruery in orange county, and the lost abbey in san diego.

if i had a lot of extra time and money i'd split my time between shopping in whole foods and cooking and eating amazing meals. if you really love food, live in pasadena, and haven't been here yet you need to change that in a hurry.

the new whole foods on arroyo (biggest whole foods store west of the rockies!) has the most beautiful produce display (aside from that one orange pepper that found its way over to the greens). this is a foodie paradise, so many wonderful things to buy. if only their prices were a little lower it would be the only place we'd ever shop.
