introducing timmy morgan!

tim is a great friend of mine. like me, he's also a new pasadena resident. he's out here in california trying to make it big in the entertainment industry. last night i got to see him perform at a comedy benefit for the midnight mission at room 5 lounge in los angeles.

i knew this already, but last night re-affirmed how funny this guy really is! you can check out his website right here. or you can check out some of his superb material here or here. enjoy!

I like de TM. His wife may know your wife, somehow!

He needs to blog more, to ride more to lose weight, & to write more comedy to make us laugh. On 3rd, thought, it looks like he doesn't have to do a thing 2 make us laugh!

That's the gossip i hear out on de street anyway.

Funny stuff! I love stand-up. My first professional acting job was at The Second City in Chicago in the early 1980s. Improv comedy. I had others onstage to catch me when I fell! I knew a few stand-ups then. I've always admired anyone who could get out there alone.

Such a cruel business. The wrong crowd can totally ruin a great set. A comic can bomb in one environment and do amazing the next night doing the same material to different people. So weird.

That's true of any kind of live performance. There's a kind of crowd mentality thing. No matter what show you're doing, your chemistry with the audience can differ from night to night. It's not the fault of the audience or of the performer. (Well, it can be...) But weather, mood, alcohol, traffic, or just the energy in the room can be the cause.
