september theme day: big

recent forest fires have been tormenting residents and the environment of l.a. county. these fires are big, and refuse to go away quietly. warm temperatures and extremely dry weather have created the perfect climate for fires to ignite. as of this post, the station fire is still lingering on our mountains.

i have been compiling a list of other bloggers working on this continuing news story. it can be found here.

hundreds of other city daily photo bloggers are working with today's theme.

A great photo but the fire is way too close. We pray for your safety, Ben, and an early end to this terrible fire.
My kids live in LA too.

I wish the California fires weren't giving all you California bloggers the opportunity to post the 'big' today but sadly the fires are still very much there. Really hope the weather changes soon and stay safe. An excellent photo showing us how it is.

Fire juxtaposed with city lights--there's reality in your photo, Ben.

These flames aren't just big but relentless. Interesting photo, the line between wilderness and civilization is marked by fire.

The red tail lights say it all -- stop this! -- while the face on the billboard lures us even closer to the devastation.

Intense shot, Ben. I'm going to be so happy when we can all go back to posting images that don't have flames in them.

Wow! I lived in So Cal in the early 90s and this scene is all too familiar. It's creepy...
