one more from surf city, usa

i wanted to post one more from our time at the us open of surfing.

i love the way this came out - one surfer carving up the wave, and the other trying to paddle over the wave.  what a crazy sport.

we spent our 4 year anniversary doing something we've never done - taking in a surfing competition.  we heard that the us open of surfing was happening down at huntington beach, and that it was free to the public, so we headed down and had a great day standing on the pier watching the competitors trying their best to impress the judges.

what in the world?

this was a fun float. we heard people cheering from down the street and wondered what was going on. then the float arrived but we still didn't know why. then we saw dogs wearing tutus, on surfboards, skiing down a snowy slope. certainly a crowd pleaser! can't see the dog in the photo above? look below for a shot of a dog ready to take off.
