one week until pitchers and catcher report
now that football is finally over and done with, we can move on to the first sign of the baseball season's arrival. believe it or not, in just over one week's time, the first professional baseball players will start to arrive at their spring training sites in florida and arizona. this photo is from a trip i took last spring with my aunt to see some "cactus league" games in arizona.
time to play ball!

One way we gauge 'snowbird' season is when pitchers and catchers report - so does the second wave of snowbirds. My mom lives out by the Goodyear and Surprise parks while I live in Mesa where the Chicago Cubs train. If you get over this way, it would be fun to meet you at a game!
That would be fun! I'll keep you posted.
I know - another xcuse 4 you 2 drink beer.
I've never done spring training, but a game in Rancho Cuc in early April is a rite of passage for me. I love guessing which players I see for the first time will make it to The Show. (I once saw Ervin Santanta throw 8 one-hit innings when he was 20 and I knew we would be seeing him again one day.)
Great photo.
