sand mandala, part two

remember when i posted the images of the tibetan monks making a sand mandala?

well those same guys spent the week creating one of their masterpieces at occidental college.  i decided to go for the closing ceremonies which included the sweeping up of the finished product until there was nothing but the table left and a small pile of sand.

I saw Petrea's photo of the sand mandala and had wanted to attend the closing ceremony but missed it. I'm glad to see your photos. Very cool. Those hats are something else!

It was really cool to watch it made - and quite difficult to fathom destroying it.

I'm so glad you saw this! I didn't know they were going to be at Occidental. I hope they enjoyed their visit here; it must be so different from their remote monastery in India.

For sure! It made me wonder how extensive their tour schedule is.
