the burrito express

while i wouldn't say it was the best place to get a burrito in pasadena, i did enjoy my meal at this classic north pasadena establishment.  i liked that there were some humorous signature items on the menu poking fun at customers, politicians, and locals.  i liked that the portions were sizable, and i liked that our meal for two came in around $12.

but i couldn't help thinking that i've had much tastier mexican food from a taco truck or tiny stand.  i may go back, but i'm in no rush.

Hmm, not a ringing endorsement, man. Funny, i'll be eating from a taco truck today at my church. Happy Easter to you and your family, Ben.

That review is loud and clear. I've heard great things about this place so I'll check it out, knowing now that the reviews are mixed.

I agree.. not the best! But ok! I LOVE La Estrella! ... and La Chona, and Lake Taco, and so many other places before this place... I really wanted to like it because we lived a block away when we first moved to Pasadena! But alas...

Is La Estrella on Orange Grove? That's not far from me.

There are actually a few locations, and if I'm not mistaken, a history that includes the owners divource, and a grudge that includes splitting up the restaurants and not letting to to a secret salsa recipe...

My thoughts are that the one on Foothill and Altadena is the best one.
