eagle rock

one of pasadena's adjacent towns is the town of eagle rock - named so for this bird-like rock formation. i can't decide if it looks more like the head of an eagle, or like a bird in flight with outstretched wings...

One or the other, it's still very striking!

I've always seen it as the head of an eagle, looking to the left, but then I found out most people see the bird in flight and felt very foolish. It's good to know there are other "head" people.

I just see a rock! :(

The shadowy area is what people see an eagle in - either the curve of a beak or the curve of a bird in flight.

Hope that helps!
