skywatching at j.p.l. and hahamongna

i've been discovering more and more about our local area parks because of a top secret project i'm working on (for a hint, check out the comments on this post). today's photo is of hahamongna park with nasa's jet propulsion laboratory in the background.

the jet propulsion laboratory sits in amongst the mountains - and as this photo demonstrates, looks much like its own city from a distance.

snapped this one of a building on our recent visit to nasa's jet propulsion laboratory. i have no idea what building this is, but i like the way it looks.

...or jpl as it's known around here. similar to another image i've featured before, but this one seems to be a little sharper. less smog that day i guess.

nestled at the foot of the san gabriel mountains, just to the north of pasadena, is nasa's jet propulsion laboratory. it seems most people around here just refer to it as jpl. from above it looks like a city of it's own. it borders flintridge/la canada on one side, but has a security gate limiting the people who actually enter. i hear they offer tours of the place, maybe we need to go sometime.
