up close and personal with city hall
it has been a little while since city hall made an appearance (don't feel too bad, it gets featured a lot!). so today she is back. this one is inspired by petrea's quest for superfluous details. i think it qualifies.
My home away from home. I give tours of City Hall to groups and organizations, and one of the favorite parts for everyone is my describing what all those architectural elements symbolize. I have always maintained that the day I don't get goosebumps when I see this magnificent building every morning, that's the day it's time to move on. So far, after nearly 18 years, the thrill continues. Barney Melekian says the same thing.
She stands in all her glory just as she did 81 years ago. The only changes to the exterior have been structural and cosmetic improvements while not removing a single architectural element.

Ben, this also qualifies as one of your best shots yet! Everything comes together for a perfect image.

2 magnificent colors
I like the angle of taking of the photo
Thanks Kim! What a compliment.
Bergson, I love the way the two colors contrast. If only all images were this simple to take.

18 years is a lot of goosebumps! Has it changed much over the years?

PIO - I've had a request to get some images taken from the top of city hall. Is that even possible? I figured a tour guide could help me out...
