the sun will come out

the pasadena sky has been awfully gray lately. fortunately the sun is supposed to be out in full force by this weekend. this photo was taken last fall on a hike we took at the park at the top of lake ave.

also, i'm looking for picture suggestions. ideas on what to photograph around town. you'll be credited in the photo description as my inspiration for the shot. start the requests!

Nice shot with the "hands on hip" silhouetted figure in the foreground. The Yuccas are in bloom (hint).

Yuccas, eh? I'll investigate and see what I can do.

Go take the old Mount Wilson trail out of Sierra Madre, (not Eaton Canyon) It was once an Indian trail. This is the area where the recent fire was. The only plant life to appear alive are the yucca. Eery lunar landscape. You might also want to check out the Aztec building on (north side) Foothill west of Myrtle Ave. Part of the history of regional architecture. Finish at Zelos, corn bread crust pizza and beet salad run by punk era art school graduates. Divine.

I sympathise with your grey sky, but youv'e worked wonders with the light here, It's a great image.

Babooshka, I cheated a little here - this image isn't from this past week of gray. But thanks so much for the compliment!

This is a beautiful shot, Ben. A gorgeous view.

You might want to take a look at Del Mar Avenue between about Lake Ave. and Arroyo Parkway. It's about a mile of Jacarandas. Purple everywhere! I took some shots down there I might post, but I don't see why we couldn't both post some. There was enough purple down there for a hundred blogs.

Another thing I like to do is just take a route I've never taken before, then park the car. It never fails, all I have to do is walk around the block and I'll find at least ten things to photograph.

Make sure to stop by Caltech this week to capture a few scenes of Ditch Day. Although I don't know the exact day it will occur, I do know it is quite the spectacle.

I'd suggest Caltech campus. There's some great architecture (modern and older) as well as a pond filled with turtles, toads, a stream, and more.

Hi - not sure if I'm too late to make requests, but I'll go ahead, anyway!

Pasadena to me has always been linked to Feynman; is there anything in the city (outside CalTech, of course!) that connects to Feynman? Will be great to see that. Thanks!
