tower with clouds

located close to the intersection of hudson and del mar, this tower rises above everything in the area. my best guess is that it is some kind of radio tower, but i have nothing to back that up with. i should have looked around and done a bit more investigation. do any pasadenians out there have any insight?

does anyone else find that Saturday is a slow day in blogger land? I seem to see a dramatic dip in visitors on Saturdays.

Yes. My visitor count dips on Saturdays and Sundays. That tells me a lot of folks are goofing off at work (bless 'em).

Great theory. Something backwards about a society where our "off" time is busier than our work :)

I can tell you for sure that it is a two way radio communications tower. From what I can see it looks like there is two antennas (probably one for transmit and one for receiving) all the way at the top. There is another antenna about 5 feet below the top and a microwave dish on the other side. That building houses the Pasadena Unified School District, so my guess is that is the radio tower is for the Pasadena School Police or for other type of school communications.

Hope that makes sense :)

My guess is that it's for KLRN, the PUSD's tv station.

...they also broadcast the PUSD meetings from there, because I remember when I used to live across the street.
