ben and the blue jays

last night i got to hang out and play catch with a few of my friends on the toronto blue jays...

not really, but i was close enough to get a picture of the relief pitchers in the bullpen. oh, and the blue jays won, and eugene and i found free tickets to a sold out game at angel stadium - just as we were about to head home. all in all a pretty great night. this image isn't really pasadena related, but its not too far. about 40 minutes if traffic is good.

a side note: the jays and angels were wearing commemorative patriotic weekend hats - compare this and this to what they normally wear here and here.

i promised a picture of city hall, but i bumped it for this. stay tuned tomorrow when i promise there really will be a picture of city hall.

How cool that you were able to get in the game for FREE, then get this awesome shot. Did they play "O Canada" before the game?

I was going to be so jealous if you were on the field snapping away. I am still jealous you could get such a great photo. I like the hats, the Angel blue looks good, they should bring out a blue version on Sundays like the Cardinals do.

WCGB - Of course "O Canada" was sung! Sadly we were still in the parking lot looking for tickets at that moment.

Jim - It seems like many in attendance still wear one of the old school caps that the angels had that included blue with a red brim. I'm sure marketers drool at the possibility of including throwback uniforms from time to time - if only the Angels could decide where they are from (LA, Anahem, California, etc).

Thanks Lily! It was a fun game to be at, the picture is a little grainy for my liking but I love how busy the image is - the pitcher warming up, the players chatting, sunflower seeds strewn everywhere, and the crowd in the background.

The ANGELS! Now that sounds like it should be your team.

Yeah, that sounds right!

Back to back World Series wins in 92 and 93 solidified my loyalty to the Jays. Anything else would feel totally incorrect.

Although I will admit to starting a love for the Dodgers - everyone needs an NL team I guess.
