the last image...
during a game of mini-golf i dropped my camera. this is the last image it took. as you can see, my buddy mike is giving me the thumbs up sign noting his excitement that the camera is actually working... however it was the last time it did so.

I cringe at the thought of that happening. Hopefully you'll be back with a replacement very shortly.
Serendipity on the shot, which is spookily good under the circumstances, but bad luck it is no more. Must be fate telling you something.
