photo request #5: fireworks over the rose bowl

michael coppess, of the impressive east of allen blog, gets his second photo request granted. last night we saw the impressive rose bowl fire work show from the hills of the surrounding area. if you click on the image you can even make out city hall to the left side of the image in the background - a photo of which i'll be posting tomorrow. the photo below turned out well with people included right about the time the finale began.

the offer is still out there. if you see something from around pasadena you want featured on this blog, just drop me a comment and i'll see what i can do. is there a part of pasadena that is getting overlooked? let's try and correct that.

oh, and if you want to see some video from the evening, you can see it here.

Good job! Never been to the Rose Bowl fireworks show myself. Interesting view to be looking down on the fireworks.

What a flop. No grand finale on the Fireworks. Well, it didn't seem like it.

Keith - you'll have to stop on by some time! This was my first, but it was also my first 4th in Pasadena. The rule of the day was to stay away from the rose bowl area if you are driving. The surrounding hills had much more manageable traffic. I think a bicycle would have been ideal.

Ashtonian - Agreed. Although I enjoyed the entire show, usually I'm overwhelmed by a "grand finale", which I really wasn't this year.

Nice shots, especially that last one!

Photo requests: Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles on Park.

Actually, what I'd really like is a plate of chicken and waffles and Roscoe's is hands-down THE best!

Not a problem, I'll get on that photo request!

I think I see city hall! I'd guess you were in the hills north west of the Rose Bowl. Great shots as always. It was a good show. We were inside and got to see the bands and such that you don't get on the outside. But, the crowd was daunting and I can't fault anyone for staying out of the arroyo. We had to park at the very northern end of the golf course, which made for a very long walk to the car after the show. Thanks.

I didn't realize there was a concert as a part of the Rose Bowl thing... I'll have to keep that in mind for next year!
