villa parke voting

rain was falling today but that didn't stop people from lining up to vote outside the villa parke location. if you live in the usa, i hope you got a chance to do the same today.

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like

In Oregon and Washington State, voting is all by mail. So there will be no lining up, and my ballot was in on Friday.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Interesting! So why don't we get those results first?

It was chilly out this morning. But at least it wasn't raining! Hope the weather won't keep people from the polls.

and I shall. I'm hoping for a shorter line

Lines and more lines. I waited 2 hours, but no chads--just a paper fill-in-the-dot scanned ballot. All good!

Actually the lines were encouraging! It means people are excited for this election and are actually getting out there (despite the weather) and casting their vote. Gotta love it.

Glad there were no chad issues.

Villa Parke. I guess I thought you'd vote at the school on Ashtabula like me. Hey, rain is good for California! I hope it doesn't dampen voter turnout. This is only a sprinkle so we'd sure be wimps if it did.

When we used to live in Arcadia and Pasadena years ago, you used to be able to walk down the street to a neighbor's house and vote in their garage. My husband laments the fact we can't do that here in MA. Is that still done in CA or do you have to go to some bigger center now?

Not sure! Maybe someone who has lived here longer than I have can answer that.

I was in line for nearly an hour this morning, then had to turn around and leave for an 8:30 meeting. I'm heading back to my polling place now. I will always prefer going to the polls than voting by machine or mailing in my ballot. It's a great feeling of democracy in action with fellow citizens. God bless America!

Love that verse! Glad people waited in the rain to vote.

Ya, hope you clicked on that verse to see the full performance!

I haven't been in a polling place for probably 25 years. I was an early vote-by-mail guy.

As the returns come in, I keep thinking of the song Mr. Blue:

I won't tell you
When you paint the town
A bright red to turn it upside down
I'm painting it too
But I'm painting it blue!

And I mean blue in a good way!!
