oakland community garden

i've noticed the oakland community garden before, but i know very little about it beyond the fact that i live close by.  they have a sizeable space, and seem to grow a good variety of produce - almost year round - but more information is hard to come by.

but - while searching for more details, i found out that there is a new group trying to get an official community garden started in pasadena.  you can learn more about the group at their website, right here.

Howdy-
I know some of the resident gardeners here. An after school program, originally connected with Lake Avenue Community Foundation, plants in part of this garden. Elementary aged kids get to learn through digging in the earth and watching the miracle of plants growing. There are some wise older gardeners who have been growing collard greens, tomatoes, and some other staples in this community garden too. It's a pretty nice crew to say hello to and pick up a couple of gardening tips from. Thanks for the picture.
