venice canals

today we are stepping outside of the pasadena city limits to visit the venice canals.  this has been on our list of things to visit almost since we arrived in california, but it took us almost four years to get to this beautiful little slice of paradise.

it really feels like a new world when you walk along the canals.  time seems to slow down as you meander through the homes, boats, and beautiful gardens.

4 a minute BW I was hoping you come to report you had discovered a hidden treasure here in town! Very nice foto.

That is a good idea for April Fools Day! I'd caption it something like - "the beautiful Pasadena Canals are located just behind the Fresh and Easy on South Lake -- one of Pasadena's most beautiful spots!

I wish you'd done that, Ben! Actually I thought this was an old colorized B&W photo. The canals are really beautiful - aren't you glad you made the trip to see them?

It's a great place for a stroll. And now you know why they call it Venice.

ask "East of Allen" about the fellow who developed the canals. All roads lead back to Pasadena

Nice, I've never been there, either. Not this view, anyway. And I've lived here 32 years! But I've been to the real Venice. It still is better.
