beckman auditorium at night


this photo needs little explanation. a photo of the beckman auditorium at caltech, taken the other night before the wailin' jennys concert. that fountain just pops, doesn't it?

OMGoodness! What a monument to 60s architectural thought! I haven't seen images of this building before. It is amazing. And yes, the fountain does pop. Love the cool pendant lights, too. Something tells me Virginia in Alabama would not favor these columns over the ones she's featuring today. And a scalloped roof. . .incredible. Thanks Ben. I'm going to have to go see this.

Isn't that a stunning photo. The night shot really makes the viewer focus on the lacy edge and the gradual transition of the columns just blending into the roof. The fountain is an added bonus. Super job, Ben.
