september 2008 theme day: sister cities

today's theme day was a tough one. pasadena has 6 sister cities so you would think i'd have no problem. however, i have not visited any of them, and i'm ashamed to admit i'd only heard of one of them. fortunately the reason i had heard of it was because a good friend of mine had just visited. today's picture of tangier, morocco, is courtesy of jason good (a former co-worker of mine in the admissions office at eastern mennonite university). thanks for your help today.

over 100 other bloggers are working with this theme today. check them out!

I've always wanted to go there. A good college friend spent a lot of time there.

Tangier is so cosmopolitan, rich in history, and of course has great food. But no, I haven't been there (yet). Your friend is lucky.

I don't know who keeps putting Tangier on the Wikipedia list as one of Pasadena's sister cities. It's not (sorry if that wrecks your day). We take it off that Wikipedia page and then it keeps reappearing. We have five sister cities. But I love the photo! More info can be found at www.PasadenaSisterCities.com.

hilarious! so pasadena has some secret society that wants to be friends with tangier. maybe i'm one of the people who keep adding it!

Laurie and USElaine... I'm also filled with trip envy.

pio ann, I didn't recognize Tangier either as a sister. But, I don't keep watch on these things so what would I know.

bw, i'm starting to agree with you that, "so. pasadena has some secret society that wants to be friends with tangier." (Especially since south pas apparently doesn't have a sister city & Laurie mentioned she always wanted to visit it)
Interesting...

I'm also begining to wonder who keeps on adding it to the Wiki??

Ann scared me for a second there. I had to go check before I commented. I had seen the Pasadena Sister Cities site (www.passcc.org is what I found). But I also got info from wikipedia. And I'm the one who says not to use Wikipedia as your final source!

Even so, Ben, you've chosen a fine city as your post for today and might I say you are a gentleman with a very good attitude.

P, correct on the website.
Also, PIO's given url should end not with .com, but with .org

I think bw's wife & all his seminary ed have trained him well. But, we gotta get him a new bike!

Another name for wiki's are trikie's. Researching info on the internet can be a contact sport.

Ben, thanks for posting the link! I've not been to any as well, unfortunately. But I just learned that I've been to four of LA's sister cities:
