august 2008 theme day: metal

the ironworkers office plaza on el molino has this very rugged sign out front. it screams metal, doesn't it? a huge steel beam.

faithful readers of this blog may notice that today is friday, and that usually means a taste of pasadena neon. i'll try and come up with something for tomorrow to fill the neon void in your life created by today's theme day post :)

138 other bloggers are interpreting "metal" today. check them out below:

Oh really nice. And double too - the iron itself and then the word.

Now that is a man's sign. Real metal. Great take on the theme.

I agree with Steve, that's a great take on today's theme.

Now... WHERE'S MY NEON? :-)

Steve - it's true, I should have let out a Tim Allen grunt when I took that picture.

Laurie - neon is on the backburner for tomorrow... I can't upset the masses for too long!!

Perfect sign for the ironworkers office and for Theme Day. Good job!

Uh oh, Ben. You have the optional long list in your post, but not the short Required link. Your theme day thumbnail isn't listed at the portal because the code it scans for isn't here. You can find the code right above this list on the pull down, if you want to try to edit it.

Nice shot..if only had neon lights at night ;)

keep that iron will (pun intended) and get back to inform yesterday's villian what a person and a camera can do in public

Keith - Thanks for the compliment!

USelaine - AHH! I'll fix that right away... thanks for catching that.

Rafa - it does light up pretty nicely at night, but sadly, no neon.

BW, the ironworkers bldg is on North El Molino, north of Union, right?

If so, I think I ck'd out this office a few years past when looking for a new office space. One thing memorable about that day was it was pouring rain fierce that day.

Nice angle & nicer subject for the themeday.
