city hall spending some time with the moon
i hope you enjoy!
also, i've hit a wall with my photo taking creativity. there is just a little left in the tank. i'd appreciate some photo requests to force me to get out there and take some pictures! send them my way.
Hit a wall?? Sure have, bw, bcuz you apparently haven't hit it hard enuf yet! Ck out the eastside more, or do a series on our libraries or record/cassette/cd/digital shops for starters.
Give us more Insider pics/info from Fuller Seminary, etcetera, etcetera.
This is your mission, should you choose to accept...
How about taking photos of some of the water fountains in Pasadena - i.e. Plaza Las Fuentes, Western Assets (or whatever it's called), the one on the corner of Colorado and Marengo...
Maybe you did this already and I missed it... but could be a good idea!
You might try close-ups of mundane things: textures, small objects, etc. Or maybe you and I could pick a couple of subjects and a couple of dates and post the same subject--not a competition but a different take on a subject. I've been wanting to do the Old Mill, for example.
I know it's not easy with your schedule, but Cafe's suggestion of new neighborhoods is also good. And do it on foot. When I'm walking I always see things to photograph.
yeah, fountains - haha, i remember walking to the YMCA (or maybe even the YWCA?)from Fuller with my dad to swim laps in their pool since he had a very bad back.... we'd walk through city hall, i suppose (it was 33 years ago, after all!), on quiet saturday or sunday afternoons, and us kids would hop into the greenish cold water in one of the 2 fountains we passed on the way... i don't think they were ever turned on at those times..... and collect the loose change! my dad was so embarrassed he'd walk ahead, but mum had a more pragmatic view, since there was no sign re particular charities, and said that we should pray for the people who 'donated the money' as that would be better than 'luck', and there probably weren't too many people poorer than us in pasadena anyway! we did get two free meals at school at the time, based on our non-income! so perhaps you could walk past those fountains, and if they exist, hop right into the water and take a shot of any coins for me, haha! roz

Oh, how about the Old Mill off El Molino?
Keep them coming! This is a great list.
I like this one, Ben. It almost looks B&W.

Ben, you'll find a nearly complete list (I need to update it and fix some headers) of monuments and memorials here that may give you some inspiration.
More great suggestions. I'm heading out on my bike right now, armed with my camera!

That sounds hilarious Roz! Very funny.
How about the various train stations in Pasadena? Del Mar has those interesting colored buildings and the one by Memorial Park has that cool mosaic.
This photo is absolutely gorgeous. I like the way in which you included both the building and the moon.
Wow, Ben - this one is among your best! Print it & sell it. Wow.
(What a way to desplay your "hitting the wall".)
Laurie, another great suggestion!
George and Tash - thank you so much for the support! Your comments are always welcome.
What an awesome shot. At first glance I thought it was a robot and then I focused in on what it was. :-) Great angle.
